Summer Fun with Five Valleys

Looking to be involved this summer? From celebrations to pouring beer at concerts, and from bird banding to Hands on the Land volunteer days, there's something for everyone. The listings below will be updated throughout the summer.

July

Bird Banding at the Rock Creek Confluence Property

When: July 2nd, 15th and 25th; 7:00am and 9:00am each day

Where: Five Valleys' Rock Creek Confluence Property

Help University of Montana researchers identify, band and record bird specimens. All ages welcome! More info here.

Five Valleys Audubon Society Field Trip:  Primm Meadow

When: Saturday, July 14th; 7:50am - 5:00pm

Where: Primm Meadow

Join our friends from the Five Valleys Audubon Society as they go birding in Primm Meadow in the Blackfoot Valley.  More info here.

4th Annual Revive & Thrive 

When: Sunday, July 15th; 10:00am - 1:00pm

Where: Lost Horse Meadows, Blackfoot Valley

Join us and our partners from The Nature Conservancy for a workday and celebration in the Blackfoot Valley. More info here.

River Recreation Monitoring

When: Afternoons and Evenings throughout July and August

Where: Buckhouse Bridge, Madison Street Footbridge, and Sha-Ron River Accesses

River lovers needed! Help the Clark Fork Coalition and partners gather data on who and how many people are using Missoula’s beloved rivers this summer. Enjoy the river while you help! Shifts are July - August in the afternoon and evening at various access points on the Clark Fork River and the Bitterroot River. Sign up for a shift here, and come to the Volunteer Training on Tuesday, July 24th; 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the Madison Street Footbridge in Missoula to learn more about the project and how you can involved. Big Sky Brewing Company Summer Concerts:  Travelers' Rest Festival

When: Saturday, August 4th and Sunday, August 5th; 11:00am - 11:00pm (two shifts per day)

Where:  Big Sky Brewing Co. Amphitheatre

Join us for great music and great beer supporting conservation at Big Sky Brewing Company and Knitting Factory Entertainment's Summer Concert Series.
