Public Land Projects

Access to trails, rivers, mountains and forests are the cornerstone of our quality of life in western Montana. Whether it’s Montana Power or a neighbor down the river, private landowners and the general public sometimes agree that very extraordinary places are best suited for ownership by the whole community. Throughout our history, Five Valleys has identified these opportunities and worked with public and private partnerships to find ways to realize everyone’s vision of protecting these extraordinary places forever. Below are just a few examples of the public lands projects we’ve created with private partnerships in western Montana, you can also check them out on our Protected Places Map.
