Invitation To Provide Public Comment on Five Valleys' Accreditation Renewal

Five Valleys Land Trust is pleased to announce that we are applying for a renewal of our accreditation through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.

Voluntary accreditation provides independent verification that a land trust meets the high standards for land conservation, stewardship and nonprofit management. The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, oversees this process which involves an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs, as well as additional requirements.

Five Valleys believes that maintaining our accreditation honors our commitment to integrity, transparency, and good stewardship. Five Valleys was among the first land trusts in the nation to be accredited in 2008. We received renewal of our accreditation in 2014 and again in 2019.

The Land Trust Accreditation Commission invites public input on pending applications. Comments must be in writing and signed, and must relate to how Five Valleys complies with the Land Trust Standards and Practices. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust.
