An Open Space Legacy

In 1995, Five Valleys Land Trust was an instrumental partner in supporting the passage of the first Missoula County open space bond.  The 1995 bond measure lasted more than 20 years and protected over 3,000 acres, including Mount Jumbo. The successful passage of the bond also proved to the community that we could come together to protect the lands we love. Since then, Five Valleys has put the unique tool that is the Missoula County open space bond program to work, protecting wildlife habitat, watersheds, family farms and scenic open space across the county.
