Western Montana is full of life this time of year, from open landscapes and working lands to the trails, rivers, and quiet spaces that bring us together. At Five Valleys Land Trust, we’re working to protect and steward these special places today so they can continue to sustain and connect our communities for generations to come.
This summer, a generous donor will match the first $10,000 we raise. Please consider doubling your impact by giving during our summer campaign!
We invite you to amplify your impact by becoming a monthly donor. You can think of a monthly donation as a subscription to your favorite trails, scenic views, wildlife sightings, and local agriculture.
Support the lands you love and be entered to win a gorgeous, handmade canoe! This one-of-a-kind canoe was built by local craftsman and US Forest Service retiree, Jerry Covault. Please see entry rules below:

The winner will also receive a copy of Paddling Montana by Five Valleys' own Kit Fischer! The raffle drawing will take place on Friday, September 5th, 2025. For questions, please contact Sophie at sophie@fvlt.org or call 406.549.0755.
Thank you to those who have already given for helping protect and care for the land, connect people to place, and build stronger communities through conservation! Here are some of the ways Five Valleys is putting your support to work:
We’re on track to protect 8,200 acres across our ten-county region. This incredible opportunity is one we can’t afford to miss, and together, we can create a lasting impact across our landscape. From the Missoula and Mission Valleys to Potomac, Philipsburg, and beyond, your generosity helps connect wildlife habitat, support producers, expand outdoor access for everyone, and strengthen climate resilience.
The commitment of community members like you ensures that Five Valleys can continue to steward more than 83,000 acres alongside our 200 conservation easement landowner partners, guaranteeing that these private conservation lands remain intact in perpetuity.
Five Valleys owns and cares for nearly 3,000 acres of community open space across the Mount Dean Stone Community Forest, Rock Creek Confluence, and Lincoln Community River Park. These special places offer meaningful ways for people to connect more deeply with this incredible landscape, while also enabling us to support forest health and foster wildlife habitat.
